Polyethylen / PE

Polyethylenes (PE) are semi-crystalline thermoplastic synthetics. They are produced by the polymerisation of ethene.

The different PE-typs vary concerning to their molecular weight and other properties.

  • PE-UHMW: Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylen with a molecular weight from 3 up to 11 milion g/mol
  • PE-HMW: High molecular weight polyethylen with a molecular weight from > 0,5 million g/mol
  • Pe-HD: High Density polyethylen with a density between 0,94 and 0,97 g/cm³
  • PE-LD: Low density polyethylen with a density between 0,915 and 0,935 g/cm³
  • PE-LLD: Linear low density polyethylen with a density between 0,87 and 0,94 g/cm³

Regardless of the subtype of PE-UHMW and PE-HMW polyethylene are ideally suited for the use in different areaas of mechanical engineering and intralogistic / material handling logistics because of their good up to very good gliding behavior, their high toughness and impact resistance and a high flexibility and elasticity.
